Finishing the Task Update

This is summer season in India. All the schools are closed for two months for summer vacation. The young Maravar boys and girls have no work to do, but they like to read books. By the Grace of our God Jesus Christ, during this summer season, myself and our Maravar team ministers are prayerfully planning to distribute 10,000 copies of the New Testament in the Tamil language to the Maravar people. We hope that these children will find the hope of Christ as they read their New Testaments in their own language.

We are excited about what God is doing among the Maravar people. In September of 2006, Faith Chapel in partnership with Dr. K.M. Arulappan began to formulate a plan to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Maravar people. This warrior caste exists scattered among the population of many other unreached people groups. It is estimated that 2,718,327 Maravar live primarily in the state of Tamilnadu in India.

Since the outreach began, the ministry to the Maravar people has made giant leaps. At present, in coordination with over 35 Church related Bible schools in the state of Tamilnadu, Pastors and workers have been recruited to work among the Maravar people. Dr Arulappan reports that many Maravar have made commitments to the Lord and have been baptized in water.

This outreach has been fruitful and replicating with many of the new believers expressing an interest in going to Bible school to prepare for ministry.

God is continuing to open doors beyond our expectations as we see the vision that God placed in our hearts fulfilled
